Thomas Walls

Thomas Walls' musical interests began in 1961 when his parents enrolled him in organ lessons with Patricia Wilson. He took lessons for four years. In learning to play the organ, he found a talent to call his own. He gained a feeling of personal achievement and self-confidence.

When he entered high-school in 1965, he began a new series of musical experiences. He got involved with numerous bands, in which he played the organ. He made friends and came to realize that having a musical talent opened the door to new friends and opportunities.

The Family Business

All this musical exposure eventually led him to get a job in the family business as an instrument salesperson. He worked in this field for 24 years, until he decided to start his own business.

The School Was Born

In August of 1991 he opened a music school in the Station Mall. The school employed 5 teachers and had an enrollment of 125 students. As time went by, the school grew and expanded to a larger facility within the mall.

All along the philosophy remained the same, provide high quality music instruction in an environment where the student has fun and experiences the fulfillment of accomplishing an instrument to the level he or she has chosen, whether it be for their own enjoyment or to attain Royal Conservatory certification.

In 2001, the need to expand led to the purchase of the former Gartshore Studio, which was totally renovated and now houses 7 classrooms and a new Kindermusik Studio. Also, a complete selection of music books, guitars, keyboards, drums and other musical instruments are located in the new show room on the main level.

Our School Today

With 11 instructors on staff and almost 400 students, the focus is still the same; nothing is quite as rewarding as introducing people, of all ages, to the fulfillment that comes with learning a musical instrument.
